Funding Request Guidelines
The Sumner M. Redstone Foundation is proud to provide philanthropic support in the areas of education, health & wellness, and services benefitting young people and those in need.

Eligibility:

Must be a charitable, not-for-profit organization as defined by section 501(c)3 of the IRS tax code.
Organizations requesting funding should be aligned with the priorities of the Sumner M. Redstone Foundation. However, the Foundation will review each request on a case by case basis.
Selection Process:
A letter of inquiry must include:

Organizational Background: Present a brief statement of your organization’s mission, geography served, contact information, and a copy of your tax determination letter.
Proposed Request Summary: Summarize in 1-2 paragraphs the specific purpose for the grant request (including whether general operating support or project support), objectives and strategies to attain them, the amount requested, and the total organizational and project budget (if applying for project support).
Anticipated Outcomes: Include a statement on whom you will serve, the results you expect to achieve if you are funded, and how you will achieve and report those results.
For general operating support: Describe how your organization will benefit at the end of the period for which funds are requested.
For project specific support: Specify the number of people to be served as well as the amount of funding that will improve their condition or behavior, and the period of time for which you are requesting funding.
Letters of inquiry are accepted year-round. The Sumner M. Redstone Foundation makes grants based on a calendar fiscal year (January to December). Proposals are also accepted year-round, once the requesting organization has been contacted to submit an application.
